The new Cloud-based catalogue, using Soutron Global, is called an OPAC or Online Public Access Catalogue, similar to the public library.  Not all features will be active until we reopen and the collection is available.  Right now, during our close, the collection is in secure storage.

You now have the ability to read/search this catalogue not only on a computer but also on a mobile device: iPad, iPod, Blackberry and iPhone.

Everyone is welcome to search the catalogue as a Guest, but for more features Members must login. To login: Your user name and password come from your RCMI membership info.  For example, if your name is John Smith, your user name is SmithJohn and your pasword is your RCMI membership number.  If your name is John A. Macdonald, your user name would be macdonaldjohna.

When you have logged in, please note the Welcome box on the left.  It will show the following personal info. so you can keep track of your loans:

When we re-open, you will be able to save books in a basket and then ask for them to be pulled and mailed out to you or left with the concierge for you to pick up.

When you have executed any search, you can then Create Your Own Review by means of a star system and/or comment box.

Search for Little Big Horn by Panzeri, Peter.

Then click on "View Full Record" over at the left.  The full record also shows the book cover.  If you click on the book cover it takes you to the Amazon website.  On the Amazon page you can "Click to Look Inside" and see the table of contents, search inside the book etc. 

Search for An historical record of the Royal Regiment of Horse Guards by Packe, Edmund.

When you go to "View Full Record" you will see a website link to take you to the full digital book, or Flip Book, at Internet Archive.  Read the complete book, even on your iPhone, print it etc.

This is a work in progress.  In the near future, this Cloud-based catalogue will incorporate all types of RCMI materials, not just books, such as Ebooks, archival material, photographs, moving images, videos, and sound files.  The result will be having just one place to look for all the materials held by RCMI.  It already contains the start of a digital book collection.
